Selected as one of the “AD 100” (Architectural Digest’s list of the 100 best designers in the world), Matthew White is an interior designer of great range and broad interests. Rather than being known for a specific look, he creates something new and specific for each client. His passion for history is evident in his work, while his partnership with Frank Webb (a modernist) represents a refreshing blend of old and new. Matthew has given lectures on interior design, historic styles and the use of antiques in the home and has been featured in every major shelter magazine.
From his earliest days, Frank Webb was somewhat of a design junkie, but it took him a long time to cede control to his admitted addiction. After spending seventeen years in the financial services industry, Frank began to explore new fields and formed White Webb LLC with Matthew White in 2004. Frank is a modernist, favoring clean lines, innovative materials and the applications of new technologies to the design process. The design duo was recently named to House & Garden’s “New Tastemakers – 50 for the Future of Design.”
"When it comes to our design practice, we really do believe that variety is the spice of life. We love that we get to create a California hacienda one day and a Broadway dressing room the next. Since we work in such diverse styles and spaces, we use a huge range of resources to bring our designs to life. One constant that we rely upon is PANTONE PAINTS. With a mind-blowing palette of over 6,000 colors, they understand the importance of variety and nuance in design. By giving us so many ways to express our ideas, Pantone really is a designer’s best friend. For this Manhattan living room, it’s all about the sparkle. While the color palette is subdued, the paint’s high gloss finish brings an amazing, reflective quality to the space. Fine Paint of Europe’s Caffe White in “brilliant” is nothing short of that. Whether bouncing rays of sunlight or candlelight, this room’s walls positively glow - day or night."
