New Tonal Palette is more versatile, affordable

Carlstadt, N.J. and New York – November 7, 2005 – Pantone, Inc., the global authority on color and provider of professional color standards for the design industries, today announced a new collection of PANTONE UNIVERSE Palette Plates dinnerware, the second under its licensing agreement with Fishs Eddy, purveyors of sturdy–ware.

“The new Palette Plates collection allows you to mix and match color to suit your own individual style,” explained Julie Gaines, co–founder of Fishs Eddy. “These colors are a shade away from the ordinary. They’re refreshing and unlike anything you’re seeing in dinnerware right now.”

“The PANTONE UNIVERSE brand extends Pantone’s color and trend expertise into design–driven products for the consumer,” explained Lisa Herbert, executive vice president of home and fashion at Pantone. “The monochromatic palette chosen for this collection emphasizes versatility, making it an all–season collection. The greens evoke evergreens and spring buds; the yellows suggest summer sun and turning leaves; the reds are holly berries and summer blooms; and the blues are wintry and nautical.”

Inspired by vintage traveling salesmen’s samples from the Fishs Eddy archive, the dishes are decorated with a pattern resembling the iconic PANTONE Color Chip, complete with color name and PANTONE Number, in palettes developed by Pantone’s design team. The open stock group includes a dinner plate (MSRP $12) and color–coordinated side salad/dessert plate ($8.50), soup/cereal bowl ($9.50) and mug ($7.50), and is available in four colorways: Sahara Sun, Lettuce Green, Dusk Blue and Burnt Ochre.

The PANTONE UNIVERSE Palette Plates collection will be available November 15 at all Fishs Eddy stores, as well as online at www.fishseddy.com.
