Pantone supports La Fete du Graphisme
PANTONE goes further in it’s support of this first graphic design festival in France by identifying an exclusive “festival color”
PARIS, France, November 6, 2013 – Pantone X-rite, the global authority on color and provider of professional color services for the design industries, today announces its collaboration with Artevia, a Paris cultural events organizer, who are organising La ‘Fete de Graphisme’ (Graphic Arts Festival). In celebration, the Pantone Color Institute has marked the color identity of La Fete de Graphisme with an iconic shade from the PANTONE MATCHING SYSTEM® palette. This special signature shade will appear in all design aspects throughout the festival.
In 2013 Pantone is celebrating 50 years since the creation of the PANTONE® MATCHING SYSTEM® which has been the worldwide color communication standard in the graphic arts community. As technology and working styles advance, Pantone continues to evolve its color tools and technology to reflect today’s design and production workflows. We are proud that on our anniversary we will make a commitment to such an event which celebrates good graphic design.
“Design can do a lot to promote aesthetic values. Beautiful design can brighten all of our lives” said Laurie Pressman, Vice President of the Pantone Color Institute. “ Graphic design is not only an art form that highlights the difference between beautiful and boring, but at it’s best conveys information, communicates thoughts and ideas and is a stepping stone to business success.”
“Acknowledging the importance of color in graphic design and the role of the graphic artist, Pantone is thrilled to be collaborating with Artevia in the Fete de Graphisme”, said Fabio Venturotti who is responsible for France. “ We too can support, honour and celebrate these graphic artists who every day employ their craft to make our world a more visually beautiful place.”
COLOR IN GRAPHIC DESIGN
We live in a highly visual society. With about 80% of human experience filtered through the eyes, visual cues are vital in getting the message across. Pantone’s goal in participating in the Fete du Graphisme is to help bring to the forefront the importance of color to a successful graphic design strategy;how color can be used to strengthen the overall design message, shape perception and stand out in a competitive marketplace.
PANTONE WITHIN THE COLOR WORKFLOW
Selecting the right color is just one piece of the chain. Pantone and X-Rite provide know how, tools and services to control that color in the graphic workflow from design, pre-press to output, be it in print, on product or online. That control of color gives you authority and can be the difference between success and failure in a project.

When it comes to color, Pantone is a designer’s best friend. Some of the products we will be showcasing during the exhibition at the Cite de la Mode et du Design in Paris are:
PANTONE PLUS SERIES FORMULA GUIDE
The FORMULA GUIDE includes the latest 560 new solid colors for a total of 1,677 colors, offering designers more options and flexibility in the creative process. The new colors are formulated with 18 ink bases that were the foundation of the PANTONE MATCHING SYSTEM, ensuring that printers worldwide can reproduce the new colors when specified. Consistent ink film thicknesses make the new colors easier for printers to match on press.
PANTONE PLUS SERIES COLOR BRIDGE
COLOR BRIDGE goes one step further than the FORMULA guide in that it shows the CMYK simulation of each PANTONE solid color making it indispensable for designers wanting to know how their PANTONE colors output when printing in 4-color process printing. RGB and CMYK values for each solid color make the COLOR BRIDGE the perfect multi-media tool.
PANTONE PLUS SERIES METALLICS and PREMIUM METALLICS
The PANTONE PLUS SERIES provides significantly enhanced tools for working with specialty colors that add flair and pop to any design. Our METALLICS range includes over 600 metallic shades to add a touch of sophistication to any design.
