Color Intelligence - Digital Palette for Pantone in a Colorful Leap Forward

Digital Palette for Pantone® in a Colorful Leap Forward

Color technology company Palette licenses Pantone's iconic library of 2,000+ FHI hues

In a leap forward for the design industry, consumers and professionals alike can now have the universal language of color right at their fingertips. A partnership between color technology company Palette and global colour authority Pantone has made the full library of 2625 PANTONE Fashion, Home + Interiors hues available to Palette users around the world under a licensing arrangement. Palette’s range of color capture devices will now be able to digitally match physical colors to the PANTONE Fashion, Home + Interiors library with the click of a button.

Pantone’s color libraries are used by more than 10 million design, creative and production professionals globally. The partnership between Pantone and Palette makes thousands of these unique colors more accessible and provides a progressive and sustainable digital choice for consumers — as a digital companion to the known and loved PANTONE Fashion, Home + Interiors Color Guide.

“The opportunity to help disseminate PANTONE Colors digitally and enable easy color capture with Palette technology is about democratising color. We’re helping put it in the hands of those 10 million people who rely on PANTONE Color libraries day in and day out” said Palette CEO, Djordje Dikic.

Changing the way designers and creatives around the globe interact with color, the partnership enables color capture and comparison to Pantone digital identities with Palette’s world-first color-capture devices, Pico and Cube. There are currently more than 50,000 Palette color-capture devices in use across 66 countries worldwide, by designers, manufacturers, painters and a range of other professionals.

Using one of Palette’s colour capture devices, users will be able to scan any surface and find the closest PANTONE FHI color by leveraging the Pantone API, which supports real-time, always up-to-date PANTONE Color searching capabilities. This newfound capability to digitally-search and apply PANTONE Color unlocks unprecedented convenience and value, and gives creatives and consumers a more sustainable choice in providing a digital complement to the traditional hard-copy color guides offered by Pantone.

Pantone Vice President and General Manager Adrián Fernández said they welcomed the partnership with Palette and are excited to be able to offer access of the Pantone API to the Palette app and its many users around the world.

“Pantone is delighted to expand our existing relationship with Palette in supporting design professionals with quick and easy access to the PANTONE Fashion Home + Interiors Colors from our Pantone API. The cooperation will dramatically improve the user experience of searching and selecting a PANTONE Color identity based on the Pico or Cube color capture devices.”

Palette CEO Djordje Dikic said he was confident that the collaboration will drive increased accessibility to Pantone’s colours.

“By combining Palette’s digital colour technology with Pantone’s iconic colour system, we’re able to unlock greater access to colour worldwide and provide incredible value and convenience for creatives everywhere”, Dikic said.

The digital PANTONE Color library is available via the Pico and Cube mobile applications for a yearly subscription of just $79.99, or $7.99 per month. Subscription to the Pantone color library within the Palette apps, grants full access to the most up to date PANTONE FHI (Fashion, Home + Interiors) color library. Palette is initially providing the PANTONE Color library to users of its advanced Pico device with access to owners of the Cube device by this September.

Customers can purchase Pico (RRP $79 USD/AUD) and Cube (RRP $139 USD/AUD) via the Palette website and download the apps via the App Store for iOS and Google Play for Android.
