What colors and color combinations will be most prominent in your Fall 2016 collection?

The base colors are Black and White. The “pops” are Bone, Pale Orchid, Slate, Peacock, Sage, Cement, Teal and Chrome.

What inspired your choice of colors?

Being consistent with the idea that my Fall 16 collection is based on a mathematical function, I have chosen to use Black and White as the base colors of the collection. Staying true to the brand's DNA, I built on this and included the colors Bone, Pale Orchid, Slate, Peacock, Sage, Cement, Teal and Chrome.

What is the most important color in your collection for Fall 2016 and why?

Chrome Yellow. In addition to being my favorite color, it’s also the most bold, has the most intensity and is the most saturated. The color mirrors the energy of the collection.

What is the must-have item for Fall 2016 and what color(s) is it?

The coat is the must have item of the season. From a design point of view, it’s one of the most difficult pieces of clothing to construct. From a commercial perspective, the delivery for Fall 16 is set for 7/15 – 9/15. I have developed an assortment of coats that serve the Rubin Singer woman. She has outerwear, fur, edgy day jackets, high day and beautiful evening coats.

What color are you now attracted to that you would not have used in the past? What have you changed your mind about that color?

Right now I am attracted to anything in the Orchid family, in particular the pale shades. I always felt these colors looked old and dusty, but all of a sudden it has started to look good to me. Every season I always gravitate toward some shades of Blue, Pink, Grey, and of course, Yellow. These four colors in different variations always seem to make it into my collections one way or another.
